I am 1000% going to die.   It's like cookie roulette... when I saw this story, the color drained from my face, because who doesn't love cookie dough?  With that said, read on (and then find a safer approach to enjoy.)

The CDC wants you to remember not to eat raw cookie dough. They recently issued a warning to “Say No to Raw Dough” to bakers because uncooked cookie dough is unsafe because flour is a “raw agricultural product” and hasn’t been treated to kill germs that could be linked to E. coli.

When the flour is cooked, that bacteria is killed, but the CDC reports that back in 2016, an outbreak of E. coli infections was linked to raw flour, causing 63 people to get sick.

And it’s not just the flour that can get you sick, eggs can contain Salmonella and make people sick if they’re eaten raw or lightly cooked. To make it easy for us, the CDC created a list of how to handle food while baking and handling raw ingredients over the holidays. Cookie dough may be tasty, but is it better to be safe than sorry?
