South Florida Airports Delays, Cancellations Growing On Boeing Grounding

A deadly plane crash in Africa will have repercussions for some travelers in Miami. President Trump announced yesterday that all Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 planes are grounded indefinitely. The announcement came after last weekend's crash of a Max 8 in Ethiopia that killed more than 150 people onboard.

American Airlines has 24 aircrafts affected by this immediate grounding. This could affect more than 90 daily flights taking off out of Miami International Airport.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has two airlines affected: Southwest, which has 34 aircrafts in their fleet and United Airlines with 14.

Passengers on affected jetliners can seek full refunds or rebooking on other flights.
