Jews around the world celebrate Hanukkah at sundown tonight.
The Jewish Festival of Lights commemorates religious freedom, specifically the two-thousand-year-old victory of the Maccabees over the mighty Syrian-Greek Army. It also celebrates the miracle of the holy oil that burned for eight days, instead of one, when the Jews recaptured the Temple.
Hanukkah is a joyous holiday that's celebrated for eight days by lighting candles on an eight-branch menorah.
