Texas authorities say it now appears at least nine people are dead as a result of catastrophic flooding from Tropical Storm Harvey. Officials expect the death toll to climb as heavy rain keeps falling, rivers keep rising, and surging floodwaters keep spreading across Houston and other parts of Southeast Texas.
Videos have emerged of courageous water rescues, many led by neighbors and friends. Plus a few fish and animals are ending up in strange places.
@abc13houston @khou11 @fox26houston @kprc2 @foxnews Houston we have a problem...Here's my check-in, thank you to all that have called, text, emailed, and messaged with loving thoughts and concern. I'm standing in our front door entrance. You know it's bad when your neighbors are having to float their way down using a paddle board...we've never seen accumulated waters along our street. The dogs and I are safe, high, and dry! Prayers for all of those that are caught up in this unbelievable situation. #houstonwehaveaproblem #hurricaneharvey #abc13eyewitness #fox26 #khou #kprc2 #houston #flood #texas
Crushed the 500k goal in less than 24 hours. I've raised the goal to 1 million. Your support has been truly unbelievable. It is truly special to witness what is possible when everyone comes together for the greater good of humanity. This is going to be a long and difficult rebuilding process. We need to provide our communities with all of the resources that we can to help them get back on their feet. We will come back from this even stronger. If you can spare it, please donate whatever you can and also help to spread the word. YouCaring.com/JJWatt #HoustonStrong
