If the Marlins end up being sold to Derek Jeter and Bruce Sherman, changes to the franchise will follow shortly. ESPN reports the new ownership group is going to fire team president David Samson. He's held the position since 2002. The sale hasn't been made official yet.

The Miami Marlins will replace team President David Samson of 15 years following the change of ownership in October. Previously Samson was reported to be retained per Jeter's choice.
