Truvia Kills....Bugs

An artificial sweetener may save you calories, but it may also be deadlier, at least to bugs, than originally thought.

Drexel University researchers found erythritol, the sugar found in Truvia, is actually an effective pesticide. In an experiment, fly larvae were almost entirely killed off after being fed Truvia, and adult flies produced eggs at a drastically reduced.

Despite these findings, the Food and Drug Administration has deemed the substance to be safe for humans.
