23 Years Ago Today: The OJ Simpson Bronco Chase

In 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson, the former wife of former football great O.J. Simpson, was found murdered along with her friend Ronald Goldman outside of her Los Angeles home.  O.J. Simpson later spent nine months on trial for the murders.  He was acquitted in October 1995, but held liable in a civil action.

Simpson, a famous actor, running back and Heisman Trophy winner who was one of the most recognizable personalities in the country, was implicated in the killings and would soon be charged with double murder.

O.J. Simpson could be released from prison this year.

Simpson is set to face a parole hearing this July, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections. His actual hearing date won’t be set until mid-June.

The former NFL star has been serving 33 years in a Nevada prison on burglary and kidnapping charges unrelated to the so-called “trial of the century” that transfixed America following the murder of Simpson’s ex-wife and her friend in 1994.
