Miami sports fans will want to sit down for this news.
"Perfect Season" Dolphins legend Nick Buoniconti is not in good shape when it comes to his health. The 76-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer, who played in three-consecutive Super Bowls and the NFL's only perfect season told "Sports Illustrated" in an interview published today that he can barely use his left hand, has trouble with balance and sometimes can't use the bathroom alone.
The former linebacker told the magazine, quote, "At 55 I was very normal. I'm not normal anymore."
Buoniconti said going public about his failing health is an effort to pressure the NFL into covering healthcare costs for retired players.
