The Miami area is honoring the victims of last year's Pulse nightclub and celebrating the LGBT community with this weekend's Miami Beach Gay Pride.
Pulse nightclub shooting victim Mario Perez illuminated Lincoln Road last night to officially start Gay Pride weekend. Perez lost two friends in the Orlando nightclub massacre that left 49 dead and 53 others injured. Downtown Miami's iconic Miami Tower, the Freedom Tower, the Triple-A and the Perez Museum of Art are all illuminating in rainbow colors in honor of the event. Gay Pride events culminate Sunday with a parade along Ocean Drive.
