A Florida Highway Patrol trooper is recovering after he was hit by an out-of-control car while making a traffic stop in Miami. Carlos Rosario was injured Friday on the Dolphin Expressway.
The agency said in a news release that Rosario's hand surgery on Saturday was "a total success."Troopers said 37-year-old Rosario was part of a detail to stop speeding drivers on St. Patrick's Day. He was outside his vehicle conducting a traffic stop when a car driven by 26-year-old Hugo Olivares hit him.
Rosario is a 12-year highway patrol veteran.
