Cuba's government announcing that current dictator and president Raul Castro will be passing the baton by stepping down from ruling over the communist island in 2018.
Castro, one year from today, will hand over the reigns to vice-president Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez. It will be the first time since 1959 that a Castro does NOT have control over the island 90 miles away from Miami.
Raul will continue to be chief of the island's communist party.
