Two New V-Day Dating Apps: Happn & Hater

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and that apparently means single people are about to start looking for love. Dating app Happn says its most active day in the U.S. is February 7th, one week before Valentine's Day.

Hppn also says that while people might assume that New Year's Eve would follow a similar pattern, the opposite is actually true.

The data shoes a spike of activity the week after New Year's. Hppn matches users up with people they cross paths with

People often find common ground in things they love, but a new app is looking to unite people on the grounds of things they both hate.

It's called Hater and has users swipe through images of things like cilantro and politicians, and then has them swipe through the profiles of those who disliked the same things. Brendan Alper, CEO of Hater, said in a statement. "We want people to express themselves more honestly. Plus, it’s easy to start a conversation with someone if you know you both hate pickles."
