Tips: What do to and How to Stay Sane During Isolation

We're stuck at home.

With. The. Kids.

Parents out there.... I feel for you and in these difficult times I am thankful for my health, my family's health, and birth control; cause I wouldn't be able to keep it together through all this craziness AND be mom right now.

With that said, here are some tips to stay sane and make the best use of this time at home.

Let's start with your fitness!

Idalis Velazquez (Instagram: @ivfitness) is an internationally recognized fitness expert, BeachBody super coach, influencer and bilingual content creator.  She says:

Exercising at home is super important at the moment that we are experiencing a pandemic to maintain social distance and very beneficial to strengthen the immune system and manage stress.
In fact, researchers at the University of California-San Diego Medicine discovered that just 20 minutes of exercise can have anti-inflammatory effects that boost your immune system.
There are many accessible, highly efficient and fun exercises and routines you can do in the comfort of your home!

Here is one of her YouTube videos for quick at home work out. Look through her channel for other fun work outs to stay active during isolation.

Moving onto your health and decreasing panic. Who should be quarantined and who should be isolating? How do we take care of our kids in through this process?

These are just a few of the questions we touched on with Dr. Mauricio Gonzalez on this episode of #CHATSwithGiGi. There is so much misinformation out there and confusion, I wanted to bring you the facts from a reliable source. Take a listen to this episode and, if you're looking for other great content, search through the CHATS with GiGi podcast for tons of other interviews on topics like finding your purpose, how to crush your goals and how affirmations can change your mindset.

Working from home? This can be a challenge, especially if you have the little ones with you. Note that this video was made BEFORE the isolation requirements of the Coronavirus Pandemic, so suggestions like "go to the cafe" obviously DO NOT apply right now. However, Lorraine C. Ladish has some other tips in this video that will definitely help you adapt to and succeed at working from home. Reminder that all these suggestions need to be tweaked to serve the current CDC requirements. 0

For many, this economic imbalance is being received as an opportunity to invest and purchase. If you're one of these people and you're looking to buy your first home, take a listen to this episode of CHATS with GiGi featuring Real Estate Guru Bethany Martinez. She breaks down the before, during, and after of home buying with all the steps you need to make that first home purchase.

Another part of being in self quarantine or isolation is spending the whole day with your parter. This is a great opportunity to reconnect and rekindle. Alex G is the founder of HIIT Like a CHICK, a blog for women of all ages with workouts, relationship advice and more . She created a free resource with awesome conversation starters for couples who want to have this time at home bring the closer and fall in love all over again. You can download it free HERE. Oh and check out her Instagram! She always posts awesome content!

Now, if you have the little ones at home, this is a whole 'nother ball game. Keeping enough structure to allow them to succeed at the school work they've been assigned while making isolation tolerable can definitely be a challenge. Below, two videos by Hispana Global with fun activities you can do with the little ones. Hispana Global is a bilingual blog for modern women offering tips and videos about beauty, hair, technology, travel, parenting, food and more. Founded by award-winning journalist Jeannette Kaplun.

If you have ideas, tips, activities or suggestions to make this time happier and less stressful for everyone, share in the comments! If you found this blog useful, tweet it or share it with your friends.

Sending love and light your way!
