Ellen comes back to the show with some love!
On the show, Ellen complimented Francisco's ability to forgive after he shared his story of tragedy and recovery on the show.
A car that ran a red light hit Francisco while he was riding his bike in Nashville on April 27, 2016, according to his website. Francisco suffered injuries that initially left him paralyzed. He can walk now with a cane and is continuing to recover.
He told DeGeneres one of his first thoughts after the accident was to let the driver, Freya Markowski, know he had forgiven her.
"So I woke up in the hospital, and one of the first things I thought was you know, they told me I was in an accident and I'm like 'Well so someone hit me, and it was an accident, and they didn't mean to. They must feel awful. Like, tell her that it's okay. Tell her that I forgive her and that whatever happens.
she shouldn't hold that," - Francisco
Host Ellen DeGeneres presented a $10,000 donation from Shutterfly to MusiCares, an organization that helped support Francisco's recovery after an accident almost left him paralyzed.
"Our friends at Shutterfly love stories like this, and they're going to donate $10,000 to MusiCares, who I know is very important in your lives"- DeGeneres.
