Hundreds of Miami-Dade summer campers are going fishing.
The Miami Marlins are teaming up with the Miami-Dade Parks Department to host three PlayBall4All clinics this week including today's at Gwen Cherry Park.
During each session, about 500 six to 14-year-olds enrolled in county summer camp programs will be put through the drills by team personnel.
"They're going to be learning all sorts of different skills from pitching, hitting, how to run the bases and then it will culminate in some kickback games and whiffle ball games," says Marlins Senior Director of Youth Baseball's Angela Smith.

After the day of activities, the kids will get a chance to meet Billy the Marlin.
The goal of PlayBall4All is to get kids to fall in love with the sport and their hometown team.
But Smith adds this is just one of many programs the Fish are involved in this summer.
The Marlins RBI - Reviving Baseball Inner Cities - is a league for 13 to 18-year-olds.
More than 500 teens were invited to participate.
The top teams will play their championship games at Marlins Park next month.
About 20 leagues across South Florida are playing for the Marlins by participating its Tee Ball Initiative.
Smith says, "We just want to impact these kids and make sure that their baseball experience is a positive one, and that their hometown team can be a part of it."
