Naples Police are still on the lookout for a man who allegedly threw his beer on an infant, during what some described as a drunken rampage.
According to the baby's mother, who wished to remain anonymous for her safety recalled, “As he stormed out, he proceeded to throw an entire beer on my five-month-old baby who was in her stroller doing absolutely nothing wrong."
Monday night (1/2/2023) at around 11 PM, the unknown man was thrown out of Vergina’s Italian Restaurant in Naples for being overly intoxicated.
But, on the man's way out the door, he started yelling at a family near the sidewalk and threw his beer at them.
“When I saw my baby scared like I’ve never seen before, soaking wet in beer … I knew I had to pick her up and grab her,” the woman said.
Fortunately, Vergina’s Restaurant management snapped a photo of the man, but unfortunately, he paid in cash and there was no surveillance footage at the bar.
Other restaurants on the same street also reported incidents with the man that night.
“Last night, a woman said she saw him stumble into sushi Thai and asked the hostess to let him purchase beer to go. Another woman is positive she served him dinner in North Naples that same night,” revealed the baby's mother.
The Naples Police Department says they are still actively investigating the incident, and anyone who has any information is encouraged to call NPD’s non-emergency number: 239-213-4844.
The victim also shared her intentions, explaining, “I plan to press charges. Although the baby wasn’t hurt, my family isn’t hurt … this is the type of man, type of situation .. if he doesn’t have to live with the consequences, something worse could happen to someone else down the line."
