Friday night (8/5/22) our very own Carmine represented WiLD 95.5 proudly when he participated in the second annual Oyster Eating Contest at Lucky Shucks Oyster Bar & Tap House owned by NFL legend, Joe Namath in Jupiter.
According to Lucky Shuck, employees shucked 1200 oysters, and each of the 25 contestants had exactly 90 seconds to take down as many as they could.
2021's winner, Franz Armstrong, ate 62 oysters at last year's competition!
Besides WiLD's Carmine, other local celebrity competitors included "Bachelor Nation's" Tyler Cameron, Curtis from The Mo and Sally Morning Show on KOOL 105.5, Franny of Real Radio 92.1 and 98.7 The Gater, and 97.9 WRMF's Virginia.
However, it was Palm Beach Gardens's Phillip Catasus who won the competition by eating 103 oysters in just 90 seconds. Carmine consumed a whopping 36 oysters, but has some time to practice before next year's competition!
