"Look Before You Sit": Florida Woman Finds Iguana In Her Toilet

Here in Florida, we are privy to all sorts of creatures potentially crawling out of our toilets. Massive snakes, frogs, palmetto bugs, and the invasive iguana, are all common critters that call Florida home. Speaking of invasive, an iguana gave a Florida woman a scare when it turned up...in her toilet.

Michelle Reynolds of Hollywood, Florida told local news WSVN, "I came down last night at 10:30 to make my little treat as I normally do. I put it in the microwave, and skipped on over to the bathroom, and opened the door and did a quick turnaround because I saw this thing in there, and quickly shut the door!"

Michelle decided she needed some help removing the unwanted guest, so she enlisted the help of Harold Rondan, with Iguana Lifestyles.

Rondan explained, "I just ran in with this pick stick that I have, it's a little clamp. I was able to grab it and pull it right out."

“This is the second one this week already,” Rondan detailed, saying the iguana he removed from the toilet is a Mexican spiny tail iguana.

As iguanas are not native to Florida, they have become common in the southern part of the state, and are considered an Invasive Species, that can cause injury with its tail, and nails, or even transmit salmonella.
