A woman vacationing at Walt Disney World with her family certainly did not have the "happily ever after" she expected when she received approximately $40,000 in fraudulent charges on her credit card after losing her Apple Watch on an EPCOT ride.

According to an incident report from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred in April when deputies were called to the Contemporary Resort. A woman staying there told the responding officers that she and her family were on a ride when her Apple watch fell off and disappeared through a grated floor.

The woman explained to officers that Disney cast members told her that her watch would be retrieved and returned to her hotel.

Unfortunately, that's not the way it happened.

The woman's watch was never returned to her, and later that day she began receiving fraud alerts from her credit card company.

The unnamed woman revealed that $40,000 in fraudulent charges were made before she could disconnect the card to her Apple Watch.

The investigation is ongoing.
