In news that shocked comic book geeks & movie fans worldwide, it's been revealed that Ben Affleck is going to be returning to the role of Batman! We all thought that he'd hung up The Dark Knight's cape for good, but it seems he's had a change of heart! Anthony Breznican broke the news in a piece for Vanity Fair and the internet blew up with speculation! Well, thankfully, there ARE details.

First off, Affleck isn't returning to carry a franchise. No Batman solo films for him, as this will be an appearance in DC & Warner's Flash film starring Ezra Miller. Affleck's version of Bruce Wayne will apparently be a guiding mentor figure to Ezra Miller's Flash. Also, there will be appearances from Michael Keaton's classic Batman as well! So it's going to get wild with crossover potential!

Director Andy Muschietti had this to say: "He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie. The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before. It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in."
