At only 10 years old, Zaria Hill is not only running her own business and balancing school, but is also using her sewing skills to help out in a big way during the COVID-19 pandemic by creating and donating much-needed face masks.

Zaria lives in Cleveland, Ohio and is the founder of Stringy Thingz Sewing Thingz, which also sells pillows of multiple sizes (even for pets). After making custom face masks for a dance company back in February, and after the spread of coronavirus began to grow, requests for masks also ramped up for for the young entrepreneur, especially from healthcare workers whose supplies were low.

Zaria's masks are made of cloth, so they are washable, and can be made from over 100 different fabrics and patterns. According to ABC News 5 in Cleveland, Hill's mother Latoya Carter assists her daughter, and by the looks of The Stringy Thingz Sewing Thingz Facebook page, her little sister also helps out.

Hill told the news outlet, "It's awesome because I get to help out and give back to my community." Zaria has been donating face masks to healthcare workers all over, and wants to send them to every hospital in her area.

Carter added, "We have home healthcare aides who also reached out, we have occupational therapists still working, someone from the airport just reached out — her order is in progress. Delivery drivers who are still out, grocery store workers who are still out."

Donations aside, the 10-year-old has been receiving a ton of order requests, which has kept Zaria and her family very busy and working around the clock. In one Facebook post, also featuring a video trying to fix her sewing machine at midnight, she wrote, "Warning: Only watch if you want to see success and determination at 10 years old. Aggghhh... My sewing machine sounded like a drill. The thread kept tangling and knotted. It’s almost midnight. I have mask to make and help keep people covered and pillow orders to complete. This is not a drill... I REPEAT this is not a drill. I have to fix my machine there is no buying a new one because this was a gift and there is not another one like this one. My Business will not here."

The success, sacrifice and determination of this amazing young lady is so inspiring! For more information about Zaria's business, or for order requests, head over to the Stringy Thingz Sewing Thingz Facebook page.
