Trick or Treating Over 12 Years old? Here Towns Where You Can Get Arrested

I can't decide how I feel about this one. Truth is, most high school kids who are out and about on Halloween are often up to no good. Relax, I said MOST. I'm sure your little teen is a saint! But, annoying high schoolers aside, there are plenty of teens who truly enjoy trick or treating and neighborhoods that make it fun for those participating.

Well, there are a handful of towns where kids over 12 who go trick-or-treating can actually get ARRESTED.

One of those towns is Chesapeake, Virginia.  They've got a statute that says anyone over 12 who goes trick-or-treating can be charged with a misdemeanor that carries up to a $100 fine . . . and SIX MONTHS in jail. Parents trick or treating with their kids can also get arrested and fined if they wear a mask or anything else that conceals their face.

If your teenager is planning to go trick-or-treating, you should probably go over the local city codes with them first to make sure they don't wind up with a record.

Do you think this is a good safety measure or do you think it's absurd to arrest teens for trick of treating? Do your teens enjoy going door to door for candy?
