Kelly Marie Tran, Last Jedi Actress, Deletes All Instagram Posts

I had such a great time interviewing Kelly Marie Tran when Star Wars: The Last Jedi was about to hit theaters. Her enthusiasm for the movie was contagious. But it wasn't always like that. When she first was cast for the role of Rose Tico, the movie's rebel mechanic, she kept it quiet, waiting until the shoot was well underway to share her experience with her followers. On a now deleted post from last October she said:

"Guys, can I tell you a secret? I avoided public social media for a long time purely because I was afraid. I was terrified of being picked apart, of being scrutinized, of being seen." Well it seems to have been the case anyway. The actress took to deleting all her Instagram posts after "months of harassment."

Really? Is this what we're doing?

Kelly is the first Asian-American woman to play a leading role inStar Wars. Her parents left their home behind in Vietnam to bring her here, to "the land of opportunity" and... online bullies.

If you have a problem with the way someone does their job and you can't do better, just walk away. Don't attack the person, don't go out of your way to make others feel bad about themselves. Cause that just makes you shitty person which is much worse than anyone being shitty at a role. And, for the record, she did an awesome job playing Rose Tico.

It sickens me to see people who work relentlessly to accomplish their dreams suffering at the hands of those who's main goal in life is bringing others down.

To those Star Wars Fans, all I have to say it BE BETTER PEOPLE! To the Star Wars fans who support Kelly Rose, regardless of their preference for her work, thank you for spreading love and support to all those who deserve it.

Here's the whole interview with Kelly Marie Rose on my podcast #CHATSwithGiGi

Also.... She was a ton of fun!
