First it was the zipper on the butt, then the one legged jeans, now it's the dirty jeans. Nordstrom is selling these babies for $425 and, according to their website, "Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans embody rugged, Americana workwear that's seen some hard-working action." Fashion is and has always been a means of self expression. The Nordstrom website states that mud on the jeans "shows you're not afraid to get down and dirty."
Let me be clear, I can upgrade my entire wardrobe for the cost of these jeans and I wouldn't wear them if they were given to me for free. All these failed attempts at making jeans cool and new make me feel like maybe we should just retire them altogether for the next few years.
Here's what the internet has to say about these "Dirty Jeans."
Dear @Nordstrom, mud on jeans is only appealing when a guy has been working in the field/on a house/under a car and got dirty naturally.✌️— Jedediah Bila (@JedediahBila) April 26, 2017
